当我们一踏入位于索诺玛县圣罗莎市(Santa Rosa)的野鸟救援中心时，立刻被一只英俊的百富勤猎鹰所吸引住。它有着一双明亮的黄色眼睛，还有一个黄色的喙。它的一双黄色爪子紧紧地抓住一位志工的手臂。在成年人和孩子的兴奋包围下，猎鹰自豪地展示了它的一双美丽的翅膀，并威严地观察它周遭的环境。它是一只被该中心救获的野鸟，现在成为该中心的永久居民。不论是受伤或是因为疾病，这些被拯救过的鸟是不能被释放回野外，因此该中心成为它们的永久之家。在这里，它们一辈子会被细心的照料。
