美国加州的马林县(Marin County)，位於旧金山湾区及太平洋之间。叁面环海，素以开阔的空间，青翠的山丘和牧场闻名。为航海、游泳、骑自行车、山林步行、及观赏野鸟等户外活动，提供了绝佳的场地。在这片土地上的野鸟，大多是被马林县的野鸟协会(Marin Audubon Society)忠诚地守护著。从湿地的购置，自然栖息地的维护，到生态系统的维持。多年来在该协会细心的规划及认真的执行下，野鸟逐渐在此地选择築巢、孵蛋、觅食以养育下一代。
